Artist Statement 

The sculpture embodies memories of my childhood; the many summer visits to the river with my grandmother. I utilized plastic for the river symbolizing its reflective quality and the passage of time as enduring as an everlasting memory. The blue hue captures the serene essence of the water, evoking nostalgia. Textured wood represents the sturdy trees that lined the riverbank, conveying resilience and stability. The sculpture emphasizes the grandeur of nature. A focal point, a sphere within the wood, draws attention, symbolizing cherished moments together. The repetition of organic shapes mirrors the rhythm of nature showcasing the intricate fusion of materials, capturing the essence of reminiscence.
